I spend my holyweek at Boracay with friends. It's my first time to try land trip, gosh it's almost 20 hrs including traffic. We left Araneta (QC) 12NN and arrive in Caticlan 6:30AM. From Araneta to Batangas (5hrs by bus), Batangas to Calapan (2.5hrs by boat), Calapan to Roxas (4hrs by bus), Roxas to Caticlan (6hrs by boat). The fare is much cheaper but it's so tiring and boring. Thank God, I travelled with close friends, it's like a bonding time for us. We shared a lot of stories, we laugh, cry to each other, eat a lot of chips, nuts and smoke almost 3 packs of cigarettes. I finished 140 songs from my IPOD, 5 movies and 3 packs of double mint gum.
It's actually my 4th time to Boracay, but I am still excited and happy when we arrived at Caticlan Port. Transfers are effected with ground staff directing passengers to transportation toward the docks for the banca ride to Boracay Island. A charge of P50 as an environmental fee and P20 for banca ride is paid by each tourist. The process is smooth and friendly. Caticlan people in general is friendly and accommodating. The road parallel to the beach through which all tricycles and multicabs travel is paved from one end of the island until the other, easily about 10 kilometers almost 15 - 20 minutes
The original plan is to sleep first upon arrival, but it does'nt happen because my friends were excited to see and feel the white sand and sun of bora. So after we checked-in at Frendz Beach Resort (station 1), we had breakfast at our favorite Mang Inasal in D'Mall at Station 2. After breakfast, we had our henna tattoo and hairbraids. The boys decided to sleep and the girls went on sun bathing.
After we almost 3hrs under the sun, we all went back to our villa and rest until 6pm.
For our dinner, we had "paluto" at the D'Talipapa. We had Chilli Prawns and Adobo na pusit (squid). It's so yummy, then we had party all night. We slept around 3am.
The next day (good friday) and Jim's 21st bday, we woke up at 9am, we ate tuna sandwich and coffee for out breakfast. After our breakfast, we went to the Groto and walked from station 1 - 3. It's so tiring but we had fun. We saw famous celebs, models and a lot more.
We prepared a special dinner for Jimbo in our villa, a special chopsuey and grilled salmon, then ofcourse our fave drink, VELOCITY (mixture of GIN, Blue Gatorade, Soda). We finished 1 gallon of velocity. After our drinking seesion in our villa, we went to hey jude for the party (we don't have invitation so we stayed outside hey jude). We've met people from zamboanga whose on bora for their company outing (whoa... so lucky). We stayed at the beach front until 2am.
